A bit about Theresa
Theresa Giglio truly believes in the resiliency of human beings but more so the capacity and ability of a young person’s spirit to bounce back from unsettling amounts of pain. Theresa’s vision is to build a space of healing and learning for students who have experienced emotional distress. Theresa wants to help create a safe learning environment for these children to embrace the strength of their survivor spirits so that they can direct their own future. Theresa wants to do this by creating alternative educational opportunities or, specifically, an adventure school for these children. Theresa has an adventurous spirit. She has traveled to over 22 different countries. She has skied glaciers, been caving; skydived, rafted waterfalls, ice climbed, surfed, built papaya gardens, and so much more. All her greatest lessons haven’t been learned in the classroom but nature. Adventure therapy and adventure education is something Theresa is extremely passionate about and wants to spread her knowledge with children. Theresa is here at Watson University to help figure out how to cultivate and manifest this dream and passion of hers to help young people receive the love, support and education they need pursue their passions. Children are the future of the world. Theresa wants them to not only know this but also believe this in their hearts.
