Protect your courage

Courtlyn grew up in western Colorado where she took full advantage of abundant opportunities to spend time outdoors hiking, biking, and skiing – not to mention feasting on Palisade peaches and other fresh local produce. Her “treehugging” values are firmly rooted – as is her strong desire to promote conservation and sustainability.

Courtlyn is an environmental engineering student at the University of Colorado at Boulder, but is taking a gap semester to participate in Watson University. She works for CU Dining Services as the Sustainability Intern and is a member of the CU Student Government Sustainability Think Tank because she loves teaching students about sustainability. Additionally, Courtlyn helped launch a transpartisan club at CU-Boulder. To relax and recharge, she enjoys playing the cello and running in the mountains.

She can often be found at farmer’s markets and local restaurants supporting the local food movement and enjoying delicious cuisine. Courtlyn is excited to pursue a project related to sustainable foods and food waste during her time at Watson as a way of getting one step closer to achieving her dreams.
