In 2018, information is free, but colleges and other higher education institutions prices have only gone up. We believe that promise of “the pursuit of happiness” includes confidence that one has agency in their own life. Education empowers individuals to help themselves and their communities and as such needs to be accessible. tin.fish is a free online platform to find and crowd-source exceptional educational content from across the internet. This, paired with a recruitment platform can allow anyone to learn anything for free, verify their skills and then be hired for their unique skillset. We seek to enable self-motivated learners who may otherwise not have been able to gain a degree, an equal alternative that takes advantage of what the information age has to offer.

A bit about Alex
I’m Alex, a 20 year old who loves learning. I’m from Greeley, Colorado where I lived the first 18 years of my life before moving up to Boulder for college. A year and a half into my Technology Arts and Media degree at CU Boulder, and I was ready for a change. I’d been planning to leave school to work on tin.fish back at home, but was introduced to Watson at the perfect time. It’s here, in the company of some of the most intelligent, talented and high achieving students I’ve ever met, that I really believe we can change the world.
