A bit about Forbes

The sanctuary is a labour of love and has grown through Roxy’s personal commitment to rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife. She has rehabilitated over 15 different species, and with significant experience in animal husbandry, she is one of Africa’s leaders in animal welfare.

Today, Wild Is Life is also home to the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery(ZEN), where 5 orphaned elephants are being rehabilitated with the intention of one day seeing the elephants return to life in the wild.

With his unique perspective in animal welfare and conservation, Forbes has grown a passion that exudes the necessity to create a voice for wildlife in Africa. He imagines a world where wildlife populations thrive in their natural habitats, and rural people recognize the intrinsic value of wildlife and their ecosystems. Through innovative technology, commitment to work in the field, and engaging both local and international communities, Forbes believes it will be possible to develop long-term solutions to major challenges currently facing wildlife conservation in Africa.
